Did you know that there is a conjugation that is exactly the same as the ING form in English? For example in the words: Running, Talking, Trying. This is called the Present Progressive Tense and it is a super easy one to learn how to use!

What Is The Present Progressive In Spanish?

The present progressive is the Spanish equivalent of the verb form of ING in English. For example, I am going. It indicates that the action is being done at a specific time.


For example, if you said in English:


Yesterday I was reading and…

(Ayer yo estaba leyendo y…)


I am going to the store right now

(Estoy yendo al supermercado ahora mismo)


How The Present Progressive Form Looks In Spanish

The Present Progressive in Spanish creates three possible endings - endo, iendo, and ando. Let’s take a look at some of these Spanish words in the present progressive so you can acquire this conjugation!

Conclusion: The Spanish Present Progressive Form

The Present Progressive Form in Spanish is the perfect equivalent to the English verb for ING - like in the words Running, Playing, and Talking. The difference, however, is that in Spanish there are three forms whereas in English there is only one (ING).
